At the beginning of lockdown the SVP Herne Bay Conference had to close down the food bank, which was supported by parishioners being able to bring weekly food donations to the Church.

Since then parishioners have generously responded to the SVP appeal by making monetary donations. These donations have significantly contributed to supporting vulnerable individuals and families by the purchase and distribution of special food vouchers. These can only be used for the purchase of food and cleaning products. They cannot be used to buy alcoholic & tobacco products. To date we have supported at various times over 100 persons

The impact of the Covid-19 regrettably continues to be felt by those in need living in Herne Bay & surrounding district. ln view of this the SVP Awareness Month  2O2O Appeal donations will used for the sole purpose of purchasing ALDI vouchers. The vouchers continue to be distributed on the basis of income and household numbers.

If you are able to donate this would be greatly appreciated. The following are ways in which donations can be made.

  • hand deliver or post to SVP, The Retreat, Sea Street, Herne Bay, CT6 SSP

  • leave in SVP container at back of Church

  • transfer direct to SVP Natwest Account no 46075372- sort code 60-60-04

If you are a tax payer, by completing a simple form, we can recover 25% of donations made through the Government Gift Aid scheme. Forms can be obtained, together with other information from the SVP
